The Ultimate Newborn Care Basics Checklist for Dads
They handed you a tiny human, said 'congratulations,' and sent you home like you're supposed to know what to do now. You don't. Nobody does. This checklist covers the stuff that actually matters in the first few weeks — not the Pinterest nursery stuff, the 'how do I keep this baby alive and also not lose my mind' stuff.
Use this checklist from the day you bring baby home through the first 3 months. Print it out, bookmark it, tattoo it on your arm — whatever it takes.

Dad Pro Tips
- #1Keep a basket of essentials on every floor of your house — diapers, wipes, change of clothes, burp cloths. Running upstairs for supplies while holding a screaming newborn is a skill you don't want to develop.
- #2Take a photo of your baby's diaper when it looks weird instead of trying to describe it to the pediatrician. 'It was kind of greenish with seeds' means nothing. A photo is worth a thousand awkward descriptions.
- #3Do skin-to-skin contact as much as possible in the first weeks. Unbutton your shirt, lay baby on your chest. It regulates their temperature, heart rate, and helps you bond. Plus it's the one parenting hack that requires zero skill.
